Lawrence Hall of Science is the public science and K-12 science and mathematics education and curriculum development center at the University of California at Berkeley. The innovative teaching materials and methods developed at LHS emphasize the interactive, inquiry-based approach to learning pioneered at the Hall, which is home to eleven well-known curriculum and teacher education programs, including GEMS, FOSS, EQUALS, Family Math, MARE, and SEPUP. LHS outreach programs include teacher in-service workshops, summer institutes, and other professional development opportunities for teachers; workshops, assemblies and science theatre programs for schools; and programs that immerse entire school communities in science and math learning.
