LAFN provides e-mail, educational and medical resources, Special Interest Groups, gopher, ftp file transfer, more than 2,000 USENET newsgroups, and Web access for both text-based and PPP users. Schools are entitled to free classroom accounts including Web Home pages, email, and PPP. Individual accounts cost $15.00/year (text-based) or $30.00/year (text and PPP) with unlimited usage in one-hour increments. Parents are welcome to open individual accounts for their students as well as for themselves.
