Pacific Bell is providing California students, teachers and librarians, regardless of economic environment, access to technology that will help them learn and succeed today and in the future. In a unique project aimed at making California's schools as high-tech as its businesses, Pacific Bell invested $100 million to provide ISDN access to the Information Superhighway for K-12 schools, libraries and community colleges throughout the state in a program appropriately called Education First. California's schools rank 41st in the nation in per-pupil spending and has some of the lowest test scores in math, science and reading. Pacific Bell believes this effort is not only the right thing to do, but is critical to the economic future of students in the nation's most populous state. For more information on what Pacific Bell Education can offer your school or library, please see "Pacific Bell Education First into the Future: 1998" at http://www.kn.pacbell.com/edfirst/edfirstfuture.html
