Inter-Reactive Gaming Project @On Ramp

Youth, Gaming and the American Social Imaginary

As an extension of ArtsOnline, Humanitas has joined in a partnership with OnRamp Arts to initiate an arts project, Inter: Re-Active, supported by the United States Department of Education and the California Arts Council. Funding for development of the interdisciplinary arts curricula and teacher workshops is being provided by The Streisand Foundation.

Moving from online teacher developed art-centered projects to student created illustrated stories, ArtsOnline has embarked on a two year project with OnRamp Arts. Led by artist Stephen Metts, Belmont Humanitas students are using technology to create visual narratives in response to media culture. On Saturdays, August 4 and 11, Humanitas teachers will attend a hands-on workshop where they will receive the curriculum developed by National Board Certified teacher Brian Gibbs in collaboration with Metts. The workshop will focus on the content and the skills necessary to use the site and to assist students in creating original sites.
