Introduction to the School and the Team
Sunrise is a relatively young school. Established in 1984, Sunrise
formally was an alternative high school for young men. Our campus
is unique due to its large grassy play area, its garden, gymnasium, and
it proximity and accessabilty to the East Los Angeles Science Center.
The project inquiry team is comprised of five teachers varying in grade
levels and areas of expertise.

Teresa Gonzales is a special education teacher with 21 years of experience.

Alex Pachano is a bilingual teacher with 11 years of experience.

Norma Pesqueira is a first grade bilingual teacher and has been in the
profession for 28 years.

Ron Rodriquez is a 12 year veteran of bilinqual education and also is the
UTLA repersenative and currently teaches special education.

Sherri Salmans is a monolinqual teacher with 22 years of experience and
is currently teaching second grade.

Lastly, Erica Solorzano is a recent graduate from the University of California,
Berkeley and is currently teaching first and second grade.
